Thank you for investing in your library! Your contribution builds human and intellectual capital in our communities and promotes a well-read and well-informed society. A gift to the Library, whatever the occasion, is always appreciated. Donating to the following Library Funds is a wonderful way to support your community, recognize an achievement, or to honor the memory of a loved one. To learn more about the library's dedicated funds for charitable giving, please read the descriptions below. Once you have decided how to designate your gift, learn how to give to the library here. Your contribution honors us all, and we thank you for considering the Library as the appropriate home for your charitable dollars.

If you wish to donate books or other library materials, please refer to our Donation Policy.

The Progress Fund
In the spirit of Library Philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, the Middletown Public Library Board of Trustees created the Progress Fund in December 2004. It is a library fund whereby concerned citizens who want to invest in the long-term health and growth of this library system and its branches may donate directly to an endowment-type fund reserved for capital projects.

The Memorial Fund
The Memorial Fund was established to purchase or commission suitable pieces of art, and to acquire other objects, including rare books. Your gift to the Memorial Fund is pooled with others and earmarked for future acquisitions. Items purchased are marked “Gift of the Contributors to the Memorial Fund.” Funding for artwork comes entirely from private donations, so contributions are greatly appreciated.

Memorial Gifts
Memorial Gifts are used for the acquisition of books or audio/visual materials. For gifts of $35 or more, an appropriate item will be selected and a bookplate affixed. The bookplate will acknowledge the name of the person remembered and the donor.

The Lisa Nerenberg Fund
The Lisa Nerenberg Fund was established in 1963 by the family of Robert and Carolyn Nerenberg in memory of their daughter, Lisa. Donations to this fund are applied to the acquisition of appropriate picture book selections made by the Children’s Collection Development Coordinator.

Educational Assistance Fund
Your gift to the Educational Assistance Fund will aid our staff members who want to improve themselves by furthering their professional development. The Educational Assistance Program is monitored by the Board of Library Trustees through a well-defined policy. Funding comes entirely from private contributions.

Unrestricted
Your unrestricted gift will go towards areas of most immediate need in the Library.

Restricted
Designate how you would like your donation to be spent to improve the Library.
