Renewing By Telephone Using TeleCirc

  1. Have your library card available before dialing.
  2. Using a push button Telephone with Touch Tone Service dial: 424-2126 or 777-9206 (If you do not have Touch Tone Service but you have a push button phone, follow the directions provided with your phone on how to activate touch tone service.)
  3. TeleCirc is an automated telephone renewal system. When you call, TeleCirc will greet you and ask you to enter the numbers that are located on the front of your library card followed by the pound key (#). To enter those numbers, press the corresponding buttons on your phone.
  4. TeleCirc will then state your options. To renew titles, press 1.
  5. TeleCirc will state the number of items you have on loan. To renew, you will need to choose from the following options:
    1. 1st Option
      Prompt with titles, press 1.
      Under this renewal option each title checked out on your card will be read to you. After the title is read you will be told the current due date. TeleCirc will then say:

      To renew, press 1
      If you wish to renew the title that was just read, press 1.

      To continue, press 2

      If you press 2, this title will be skipped and not renewed.

      If the title can be renewed: TeleCirc will tell you that the item was renewed. The title will be read again and you will be told the new due date.

      If the title cannot be renewed: TeleCirc will tell you that it cannot be renewed.

      Repeat this renewal procedure with each title on your list.
    2. 2nd Option
      To enter the barcode of the title you want to renew, press 2.
      This option allows you to enter the barcode number from an item you wish to renew. TeleCirc will ask you to enter the barcode of the item. TeleCirc will then say:

      To renew, press 1
      If you wish to renew, press 1.

      To continue, press 2
      If you press 2, this title will be skipped and not renewed.

      If the title can be renewed: TeleCirc will tell you that the item was renewed. The title will be read again and you will be told the new due date.

      If the title cannot be renewed: TeleCirc will tell you that it cannot be renewed.

      Repeat this renewal procedure with each item barcode.
    3. 3rd Option
      Renew all, press 3.
      This option will renew all of the items you have checked out.

      TeleCirc will ask you to please stay on the line until all of your titles have been renewed. TeleCirc will tell you the new due dates after the processing is complete.

      You will then need to press 1 to continue with renewing all of your items.

      You will be asked to keep holding on the line so we can tell you the renewal exceptions and the new due dates.

      If the titles can be renewed: TeleCirc will tell you the new due date and read all titles that will be due on that date.

      If the title cannot be renewed: TeleCirc will tell you that it cannot be renewed.

      When renewal process has been completed, TeleCirc will take you back to the main options. You may now hang up.
  6. If you would like to hear all of the titles on your card and their due dates again, you can return to the list of main options and press 2 to list titles on loan.
